Our History

Founded in 1996 by Andy Richards, Electranet UK started life as a small network cabling company based in New Milton in the heart of the New Forest. The following four years saw the business establish itself with a number of clients in both the Public and Private Sectors along with a number of SME's who welcomed the "can do attitude" and "nothing's too much trouble" approach that the business offered.

In 2001 the company broke the £1m turnover barrier and went on to realise revenue in excess of £2.5m in the following year. The next five years saw the business establish larger and more prestigious accounts in the MOD, Justice and Commercial arenas whilst expanding further afield offering installation and maintenance throughout the UK.

The year on year growth that the company has enjoyed since 2001 culminated in the Zeus Private Equity backed Management Buy-Out in January 2008 which provided the platform to grow the business further both organically and through strategic acquisition. In 2009 the business stabilised its position in the market place and began its search for acquisitions to enhance the service offering of the company.

The Electranet Group was established early in 2010 following the successful completion of two strategic acquisitions which brought Electranet Integrated Controls and Electranet IT Professional Services into the Group. Both these organisations bring with them specialist capabilities being leaders in their field, enabling the Group to become the IP converged systems house it is today.
